Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the global community has been turned upside down. Both individuals and organizations have had to change their practices and behaviors. We know there has also been a lot of uneasiness and apprehension surrounding certain things and places—traveling, for example, but also senior living communities.
While we know that most of us would like to leave COVID-19 in 2020, we must remain vigilant to protect ourselves and others. WellAge Senior Living and communities across the country have adapted quickly and responsibly to changing regulations, making them some of the safest and most fulfilling places for older adults to be.
Our WellAge Senior Living communities proudly offer independent living, assisted living, and memory care services at spacious communities in Nevada, Oklahoma, and throughout the Denver, Colorado, area. We want to thank every one of our caregivers and team members who have kept our communities safe and running during these unprecedented times. We would also like to share our appreciation for healthcare workers and first responders worldwide who have demonstrated unbelievable dedication, compassion, and bravery.
As we continue to navigate these times, we want to highlight how WellAge Senior Living maintains safe and valuable environments—now and in the future.
WellAge’s Dedication to Care & Safety
Ever since the first emergence of the coronavirus in the United States, WellAge Senior Living has been following all CDC and local regulations and restrictions. It has been our intention from the beginning to prioritize the health and safety of residents, staff, and family members. We have [temporarily] restricted visiting, implemented rigorous cleaning measures, and have been carrying out wellness checks (vitals and temperature) twice a day for residents and team members.
Through all the restrictions and changes, we’ve still been able to focus on the well-being of residents. We’ve been providing round-the-clock monitoring, assistance, and medication administration for residents who are quarantined in their apartments.
We have also been implementing telehealth technology in our communities to better care for individuals. Telehealth options have allowed residents to safely communicate with their physicians, ensuring no individual has had to risk their health and wellness to receive proper, professional care.
A Brighter Future
As we turn the corner and move forward, WellAge continues to make positive changes in our communities. While we are still not allowing visitors, we have begun to introduce dining and activities in small groups (after thorough wellness, temperature, and vital checks). In addition, with proper safety procedures in place, we are still accepting new residents. Any individual who is ready to Live Well and Age Well with us is always welcome!
We are also proud to announce that we’ve begun to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to residents and staff members who would like to receive it. President and CEO Jay Moskowitz says, “Our job is to try and get as many residents as possible to try and get this vaccine, both the first dose and the second dose. We’ll do our job to try and make [our staff] safe, so [they] can continue to protect the residents [they] care for.”
Why WellAge Senior Living?
We believe that senior living communities can provide some of the safest and most effective environments for older adults during this time and in a post-COVID world.
Many older adults who live on their own lack the ability or motivation to prepare healthy meals for themselves. At WellAge Senior Living communities, we provide balanced and nutritious meals that enhance each resident’s overall health and wellness. Even amidst the pandemic, we’ve been safely ensuring that residents are eating proper and healthy meals.
Senior living communities provide a unique opportunity for adults to surround themselves with peers in an atmosphere designed for socialization. WellAge knows how vital it is for older adults to socialize and participate in activities. While we’ve had to limit gatherings and programs for residents’ safety, we are committed to doing what we can to promote engagement and stimulation until we can fully resume our normal schedule and activities.
All WellAge Senior Living communities in Colorado, Nevada, and Oklahoma are dedicated to providing services that promote healthy and supported aging. Our mission is to enrich the quality of life for every individual who walks through our doors—regardless of their ability, needs, or background.
We are gladly and safely accepting new residents in our communities. If you have any questions about our COVID-19 response, our vaccine rollout, or our move-in procedures, we welcome you to contact our team. We are here and ready to help you and your family.
